Yesterday, I went to see “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” starring Will Ferrel who plays the role of a lead anchorman with a male dominated news team. However, things change when a talented woman with the desires to become the lead anchorman join the news team.
The first half of the movie was quite slow and while Will Ferrel's style of humor works in SNL, there is only so much one can watch before it becomes old material. Fortunately, an interesting plot progression moved the movie along and thats when the chuckles began. With guest appearances from Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn, the movie played on themes such as the rating battle between news channels, sexual discrimination and ironically, love. All in all, the movie was decent but in my book still scores less than Dodgeball.
In other news, I am looking forward to my tablet pc which will hopefully arrive before I leave for China on August 5th. As well, my cousin is finally leaving Canada tomorrow having completed his Masters at the UofA. I wish him the best of luck!
