I found this article on cnn and felt it was worth sharing. Apparently, a defective flat-screen TV from Toshiba caused it to emit a SOS signal strong enough to be picked up by satellite. As a result, the owner was greeted by a contingent of local police, civil air patrol and search and rescue personnel. I can't help but think maybe Toshiba was building spy equipment for the government and accidently got their products mixed up with the consumer line. Anyhow, I found this quite funny! Have a read.
