Yay! I will be leaving with
Mack for Seattle in about a day to attend the
Gnomedex conference and although its great to be travelling, it always seems to be overshadowed by some deadline and in this case, two deadlines. On one hand, I've been preparing all the blackberries at
Golf Score Central for the
Telus tournament (I will be missing the first day of the tournament) and on the otherhand, I've been working on our
Paramagnus project. Needless to say, packing will be reserved for the two hours before we leave but looking at all the work that still needs to be done tomorrow, even those two hours will be hard to spare and undoubtedly, I will forget to pack something - just like my trip to Spain where I didn't bring enough shirts. So I've been thinking about how to alleviate this problem and believe I have come up with a solution (granted, this may already exist but I'm too lazy to search it up). Using today's technology, we have 3D printers that can print a computer modeled 3D object in exact replica. Therefore, if given a 3D clothing model, the printer should be able to generate my clothes to my exact size in a matter of moments. That would definitely alleviate many of our packing headaches! I would digitalize all my clothes and before I leave for my trip, I would send the digital information down to the printer, which will ideally be located at my destination hotel, so that when I arrived, I will have all my "luggage" with me. Just imagine - no more headaches of trying to pack your entire wardrobe into a box that is never big enough; no more lost luggage at the airport; no more doing the laundry. Are there more benefits? Definitely. The printed material could be biodegradable or made from 100% recycled material. Fewer luggage at the airport means less staff required and lower costs for the company and by extension, the customers. The amount of water and laundry detergent that are used at hotels would be cut down dramatically. I'm a genious! (sp) ;)
Anyways, that was my rant. Time to take my medication.....I'll double the dosage.
