"Dickson, You are so lazy you would marry a pregnant woman!" - H.S. Math Teacher

Two unlikely mates

I was at the downtown Tim Hortons earlier today and while paying by debit I noticed that their wireless debit machine, where you punch in your pin number, is powered by Research in Motion (the company that makes Blackberries) and the base receiver is powered by Schlumberger. So on one end, we have a company that specializes in wireless communication and on the other end, we have a company that specializes in the oil industry. Go figure!

Well its not surprising to see both together...
SLB used to be a "major" technology company. Then it divested itseld from its CEO in 2003 and started to sell of any business that was not oil related. In some cases, for a major loss.

So what is left? Anything dealing with the oil industry. They have gone back to their roots. Unfortunately, their ego left a lot of people unemployed and a very bad taste about a French company.
