By now you probably realized that many sites including mine have been down a long time. Well, one of
our most important hard drives died and unfortunately, our back ups (which were untested) did not restore properly. We did have additional back ups (tested) that were stored on the same hardrive but as the hardrive was dead, those back ups became useless. We took the hardrive in for a lengthy data recovery process and so far, it appears we did not lose anything. During that time, we have also revised our backup strategy to be much more comprehensive. We have added another server to act as a warm backup server in addition to our frequent tape and imaging back ups and most importantly, we have tested them.
We apologize for any inconvenience and we are confident that we have taken the necessary steps to prevent this from happening again.
