After getting many comments regarding my purchase of the Echo Hatchback, I've decided to make a formal rebuttal. So here are the reasons why I bought the Echo Hatchback:
- Nothing is better on reliability than a Toyota - especially important to me since I drive a lot (had the car for almost 3 months and am nearing 7000 km mileage)
- It was the cheapest car that met my needs. Perhaps the price I paid wasn't the best for value but it was still cheaper than any other car in the end.
- The seats are quite comfortable including the back seats. (at least for the RS model)
- It looks cute. Yes, on retrospect maybe I shouldn't be going for that look but I must admit, there is a certain appeal that comes with a toy like car.
- If its cute, its bound to attract girls. And if not them, then maybe their daughters... haha jk
- The Echo Hatchback isn't too common on the road and I wanted something a little more unique.
- If I emptied out my two car garage, I can fit at least 4 Echo Hatchbacks. Possibly 6. Can you do that?
And now I have another reason to add to the list. The Echo Hatchback is being discontinued meaning the 2005 edition is the last year. According to this
link (thanks
Michelle), they are redesigning the hatchback and giving it a new name. It appears odd to me that they would be discontinuing a car that is selling so well but now I can say I have a limited edition car!
