Yesterday was officially the first day of school for UofA and for once, I was looking forward to it as this could potentially be my last semester before graduation. As further evidence of my eagerness, I attended all my classes today including the one at 8 am (only 10 minutes late ;)! I only have two courses left for my degree but I'm taking three courses just so I can qualify as a full time student. There are number of changes on campus that I noticed from walking around and reading the Gateway:
- ARAMARK, the food and catering company, has their own wireless access point in CAB
- ARAMARK (or UofA?) also introduced a swipe card for the general student population to speed up paying for food. You put an initial amount on the card and you can refill it online or at the cashier
- There seems to be a lot more religion clubs this year - most of which are Christian groups. There was even one group that had a draw for an iPod mini! Wonder where they get all their money...
- Looks like there are touch ups being done around ETLC including new sidewalks
- There were alot of females in ETLC today
- With a $12.5 million aid from the City of Edmonton , UofA has purchased the old Hudson Bay building for campus expansion
- There no longer seems to be many familiar faces in CAB
And that concludes day 1. Tomorrow is no school for me! :)
