The
University of Alberta held its Career Fair today at the Butterdome and although there seem to be just as many companies as last year, there were definitely much fewer software companies. But that didn't matter. The reason I went to career day is because it is the day
Schlumberger would have announce the information regarding their 4th annual
software programming competition.
Mack and I have participated two years in a row and
won the one last year and hearing that no team has won in consecutive years, we naturally had to come back to take the challenge. Unfortunately, it seems they have cancelled their competition as many of the organizers were transferred to other areas of
Schlumberger. I was really looking forward to this for a long time! Further, there didn't seem to be any cool giveaways or the usual free popcorn from other companies! That was enough reason for me to not attend my last class. Bah to Career Day 2005!
