I went to pick up my brother from ETLC tonight and seeing how they constructed a new sidewalk leading up to ETLC without any fire gates, I decided to take advantage of my vehicle's compact size and drove right to the doors. Little did I know, a constable was close by on a bike. Conversation went much like this:
Constable: "My name is [blahblahblah] and I'm a constable with the University of Alberta. Is there any reason why you are driving on the sidewalk?"
Me: "No. I'm just here to pick up someone..."
Constable: "You do realize this is a sidewalk and you are not suppose to drive on it. Can I see your driver's license?"
*Checks drivers license*Constable: "I notice you are a GDL driver. You need to adhere to the driving rules more strictly."
Constable: "I'm going to give you a warning this time but keep in mind, you are not suppose to drive on the sidewalk."
[Chuckling]Let this be a lesson to all of you. Do NOT drive on the sidewalk!
