The chinese car manufacturer,
JiangLing, really knows what it means by
Made in China.
The company is selling the first chinese vehicle in Europe but it is already off to a bad start after scoring
zero stars in a crash test conducted on their 4x4 by ADAC.
“It had a catastrophic result,” said a spokesman for the ADAC. “In our 20-year history no car has performed as badly.”
Testers calculated that a driver would be unlikely to survive a head-on collision at 40mph, and in a side-on collision at 30mph the driver would suffer severe head and chest injuries due to a lack of side protection.

My friend (who also sent me the link) describes one of the pictures as: "the steering column actually dislodges and impales the driver!" Haha. So true!
I suspect a reason why the vehicle has such poor safety is because in China where vehicles move bumper to bumper while dodging the thousands of pedestrians crossing the streets, it is highly unlikely you would get into a crash at 30 mph, let alone 40 mph so the manufacturer decided they could cut some corners. Assuming that is one of the reasons,
JiangLing should have produced a different version of the car for international sale. What's scary is that with an expected price tag of £10,000, the car will definitely win the hearts of some unsuspecting buyer.
