This marks the first post of 2006 and although a little late, it is better than never. With the new year, people often think of it as the mark of a fresh start. And although I have shared these sentiments for many years, this year feels much different as it will be the end of school with the coming semester. I'm excited about finally finishing and not having to skip school with 'guilt'. To keep things brief, here's an update in no particular order.
- Snowboarding trip to Lake Louise was awesome despite having lots of ice patches. Here are the pictures.
- I visited McNally on the last day of high school and it was good seeing all my teachers again including the one who said I'm so lazy I would marry a pregnant woman. His parting words were: "..and don't be a Dick.....son".
- I hate shopping on boxing day and I'm glad I avoided it this year.
- Way too much food this Christmas.
- I caught a cold right after the new year's and am still fighting it.
- Mack and I inadvertently discovered infrared ports on our laptop when they fell into line of sight of each other.
- I've been testing out the new Live Messenger and I like it so far. The interface feels more clean and slick. What I don't like about it is that you can't tell what mode the users are on your contact list. Away, Busy, Online all appears to be the same. They do have different shading for the msn buddy icon but so far I cannot determine what they represent other than the offline status, denoted by a hollow figure. - Today, I attended the Oilers Skills game with Mack, Sharon and Tom. I have never been to a hockey game and the first thing I noticed was the rink seems much smaller in person than on tv. The skills game was pretty neat and I look forward to attending an actual game! Oh yeah, Chris Pronger had a slap shot of 102 mph! Thats almost as fast as I drive! ;)
- Tomorrow is the first day of school!
And if you know anything about
Andrew and I, it is probably about the insult wars we frequently have and it appears I'm already off to a blazing start this year.
MSN Conversation:
Dickson: You're not getting the podbot.
Andrew: the office is not exactly high security ;)
Dickson: but you're not exactly high intelligence either
Andrew: OH SHIT! HAHA
Bam! And to top it all off, I leave you with this picture
taken on our Lake Louise trip.
