Robert Scoble and Chris presented to us is a "two days old" Windows Vista build.
- Robert said Halo 2 is released on PC only for Windows Vista because it performs better. As evidence, Robert showed us a demo where they played music on Windows XP and Vista and stressed the CPU to see what happens. After a certain stress point, the visualizations, application and music froze on the Windows XP while on Windows Vista the music continued uninterrupted .
- The sound panel settings is now synchronized with the hardware
- Blue screen of death still exists but in the beta, it just pops up a small window saying BSOD but you can close it and continue working.
- IE 7 has something called page zoom where you can zoom in and it will enlarge the text and images. They've also eliminated some of the side effects of zooming into a picture.
- Windows Vista Beta 2 comes in about a month and RC comes in about two months.
Many of the features presented today I've already seen though I'm sure there are a lot more new features but unfortunately, there's just too much to present in the time allotted.
