Tonight, John Bristowe gave a presentation at our
Edmonton .NET Wizards event. We had about 50 attendees and although it is an improvement from the past, I was still hoping for a little more - especially with the event being advertised in the MSDN News Flash. So tell your friends, family and co-workers about the usergroup and the benefits we can bring! Just blogging about the event would be greatly appreciated! And if you're not on the email list but would like to be added, just send an email to dickson@dotnetwizards.org or
Mack@dotnetwizards.org and we'll make sure it is added (yes, it seems a little old school but at least we're using a wiki for our website ;)
John's presentation focused on WinFX and the three pillars: Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Communication Foundation, and Windows WorkFlow Foundation. I've seen most of the WPF and WCF but the WorkFlow Foundation was new to me. I really like the WorkFlow Foundation and can already think of many uses for it. Some good resources to check out are:
They don't have a website yet for WPF but we can expect one sometime in the near future. Also, the word on Vista release date is Dec 2006. Hopefully, it will be earlier. I don't want to wait that long for a new computer!
I really enjoyed John's presentation and hope he can come up more often!
