Congratulations to my cousin Peter Woo who got married this past weekend! The ceremony was held at the Union Bank Hotel (right behind Alberta College) and while it looks small from the outside, I was quite impressed by the size of the ballroom. My brother and I also played the music for the ceremony and except for a slight miscue of the music, everything went really well. I especially like their wedding because my cousin along with his three brothers are huge Oilers fan and when one of them gets married, you can expect an Oilers element to it. And when Lisa's (bride) hometown is Calgary, you can't help but smile with anticipation.
Upon Lisa's acceptance and donning of the jersey, Peter ecstatically told her "I love you now!" which was returned with a death glare. At least she's the Captain right? Hilarious!
Other highlights of the wedding:
- I caught the bride's garter - though it was a lot easier than expected as everyone else seemed afraid of it. And no, I didn't keep it.
- Daniel Mah, who is related to the bride, is now part of my family! Talk about small world!
- There was an open bar (not that I took advantage of it) and thats not something you see often at a Chinese wedding!
I really love weddings: being able to dress up, always wondering who else will be part of the family, and just being able to see people during their happiest moments of their lives. You can see more of the pictures
here. Next up, Violet's wedding! Go Oilers Go!
