Fighting all odds to even the series, the Oilers had us all on the edge of our seats for tonight's game 7. From bright and early, signs of hockey were all about and people got on with their daily tasks with silent tension, occasionally exchanging glances of uncertainty that needed no words, knowing that in a matter of hours the months of hockey all came down to tonight. By early afternoon Rexall Place had sold out, more than doubling the attendance of any previous jumbotron showing, and along with a few friends we arrived almost an hour early to claim a good seat.
Despite the unfortunate outcome, I'm still very happy with how far the Oilers has made it and even more happy with the way all the fans reacted. Even in the end, the crowd at Rexall turned the atmosphere of disbelief into applause and while driving down Jasper Avenue back to the office, an occasional honk and cheer can be heard.
Thanks for the good run Oilers and I look forward to next season!
