I was browsing the internet today and came across an interesting tool from the Microsoft Labs that can predict "a customer's age, gender, and other demographic information according to his or her online behavior-that is, from search queries and webpage views." based on a one-month MSN Search log. You can search by keywords or URL and it seems fairly accurate so for kicks, I decided to check out who are the people searching up blogs, podcasting and related services. Here are the results (keep in mind the tool is a prototype and the results should not be treated as conclusive):

Except for Odeo, the people searching for podcast related terms appear to be in the 35-49 age group. Also interesting to note that the YouTube searchers appear to be relatively young corroborating with the recent Wall Street Journal article that reported roughly half of YouTube users are under 20 years of age.
