CBC is having a vote for the greatest Canadian inventions that will be aired on January 3rd, 2007. Here's my top 10 pick from their list of 50 inventions (in no particular order):
- plexiglass
- alkaline bateries
- radio voice transmission
- light bulb
- telephone
- UV degradable plastics
- zipper
- basketball
- electron microscope
- pace maker
They have a pretty good list that shows many great inventions do come from Canadians. The only odd exception is the "retractable beer carton handle" which doesn't seem to belong there. What's your pick?
