Here are some notes since I haven't been as active on my blog lately.
- Still fighting the cold I picked up in California and the cooler weather in Edmonton certainly doesn't help things either.
- I watched an entertaining yet down-to-earth film called "Everthing's Gone Green" at the Edmonton Film Festival. Today is the last day of the festival.
- Even though it has been less than a week since our return, we've already made some changes and improvements to Podcast Spot.
- Sharon and I attended a session last night at the University of Alberta on "A New Report on the Millennium Development Goals" only to find out that hosting an event right before a long weekend is probably a bad idea. The event appeared to be cancelled though there were no notices posted anywhere. So either we have been horribly misinformed or had the speakers shown up, Sharon and I would have been the only attendees.
- The big rumor floating around is Google is in talks with YouTube for a $1.6 billion acquisition. YouTube is a catastrophy from a legal perspective but if anyone can handle the lawsuits, it would be companies like Google.
- One of my new favorite sites is Competitious. It's useful for companies to keep track of competitors but there's no reason it can't be expanded into the community with wiki style editing. Article clippings, user feedback and feature matrix comparing the similar services could help people make better purchase decisions.
